In 2016 Matt and Rachael moved onto Norwegian Wood, a narrow boat based on the Grand Union canal. They spent a wonderful, emotional, busy, educational seven months transforming a dated narrow boat into a 40ft travelling haven. Thinking about the space and how they wanted to live, they dismantled the old interior and designed and built furniture for a more contemporary finish, took on plumbing, re-wired electrics, upholstered and did ALOT of painting, inside and out!

Out of this project came the love for ply, the desire to design and build simple, functional furniture for limited spaces, and the Hilkins Stool.
